Waiting Room and Student Collection

To help keep the studio safe, calm, and welcoming for all families, we ask parents and students to follow the guidelines below. These procedures help ensure everyone’s safety and allow classes to run smoothly.

Student Supervision & Early Arrival
Students and their siblings are not to be left in the waiting area for extended periods of time, Studio Blue Dance do not provide adult supervision of children in the waiting areas.

Dance teachers are unable to supervise children who are not in class.
Students who have made prior arrangements with the studio to arrive early, including those catching the bus,
may use the facilities and sit quietly until their classes.
If behaviour becomes disruptive to classes or causes damage to studio facilities, the studio may no longer allow early arrival.

Once a student arrives at the studio, they must remain on the premises until collected by a parent or guardian. Please ensure students have any snacks or personal items they may need before arriving, as supervision is not provided in the waiting areas. Students are not to leave to go to neighbouring shops.

For student safety, children under 13 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to their car. Tiny tots, Pre-Junior and Junior classes will not be released downstairs without a parent or guardian to collect them. These procedures are in place following concerns about young children crossing the road without adult supervision.

Waiting Room Use & Care

The waiting rooms are shared spaces, and we appreciate everyone’s help in keeping them clean and tidy.

Food should be eaten while seated only, with all rubbish placed in the bins provided.
Food is not permitted in Studio 1, Studio 2, or Studio 3/Reformer room.

Mats are for class use only and are not to be used for sitting on in the waiting room.

Any cups or dishes used should be washed after use. Our bins are for general waste only, so dirty nappies must not be placed in studio bins. Where possible we would appreciate your child taking their rubbish home with them.

For safety reasons, the walkway inside the main door must remain clear of bags and shoes, and sitting in this area is not permitted as it creates a trip hazard.

We kindly ask all families to use age-appropriate language while in the studio, as many younger children are often present. Please also be mindful of noise levels in the waiting room, particularly when reformer Pilates classes are running in Studio 3, so all classes can operate without disruption.

The doorways to Studio 2 and Studio 3 must be kept clear at all times to allow safe access for clients, students and staff moving in and out of the space.

Acro tricks or, running games and physical play are not permitted in the waiting areas at any time, as these spaces are not designed for active movement and injuries can occur. Save your energy for class!
