Lyrical / Contemporary

Our Contemporary and Lyrical classes at Studio Blue Dance focus on developing the fundamental skills and expressive qualities of both styles. Training incorporates elements of contemporary, lyrical, modern, commercial, and technical movement, with a strong emphasis on freedom of movement, musical interpretation, and emotional expression.

Classes explore a wide range of movement qualities through travelling exercises, floor work, improvisation, and gravity-focused technique. Students are encouraged to develop connection, storytelling, and performance depth while building strength, control, and versatility.

To support safe and effective training, we strongly recommend enrolment in Classical Ballet as a core foundation for both Contemporary and Lyrical dance. Contemporary and Lyrical classes are offered for Juniors, Pre-Teens, and Teens in Narooma, and Pre-Teen and Teen dancers in Bermagui.
