Tap
Tap classes at Studio Blue Dance are designed to develop rhythm, musicality, timing, and sound awareness in a fun and engaging way. Students are introduced to a variety of tap styles, including Broadway Tap, Rhythm Tap, Street Tap, and Slow Tap, allowing dancers to explore both performance-focused and technique-driven approaches to the style.

Classes are structured around barre work, centre progressions, and amalgamations, supporting the development of strong foundational skills while allowing for enjoyable and progressive advancement. Tap training enhances coordination, listening skills, and confidence, while encouraging dancers to explore percussive movement and musical expression.
In 2026, we are excited to be offering the Glenn Wood Tap syllabus, with the opportunity for students to complete tap examinations should they wish. Exams are optional and designed to support each dancer’s individual progress.
Tap classes are available for dancers from 4 years through to adults.
