Terms & Conditions – Studio Blue Dance Pty Ltd
Last updated: 20 January 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to all students, parents/guardians, and visitors engaging with Studio Blue Dance Pty Ltd (“Studio Blue Dance”, “we”, “us”, “our”), including enrolments, classes, workshops, performances, competitions, and studio communications. By enrolling and/or participating, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. Enrolment and participation
Enrolment is confirmed once submitted (online or in person) and may be subject to class capacity. Some classes have prerequisites (age, level, or teacher approval). Placement decisions are made by the teaching team with the dancer’s best interests in mind. We may adjust class placements where needed to support student development, safety, and appropriate training level.
2. Fees and payments
Fees are payable by the due date advised by the studio (including term fees, levies, uniform orders, and any additional items such as rehearsal or costume fees). We accept payment via Square and bank transfer. Where applicable, fees may be non-refundable (see section 4). Overdue accounts may result in restricted participation until payments are brought up to date.
3. Attendance and missed classes
Regular attendance supports progress and class outcomes. Students are encouraged to attend consistently. If a student misses a class, make-up classes may be offered at the studio’s discretion and subject to availability. Missed classes are not guaranteed to be refundable or credited (including due to illness, holidays, or other commitments).
4. Refunds, credits, and cancellations
Term/class fees: Generally non-refundable once the term has commenced. Where exceptional circumstances apply, credits may be considered at the studio’s discretion.
Workshops/special events: Refunds or credits may depend on notice provided and whether the spot can be filled.
Uniforms/costumes: Orders are made specifically for each student and are generally non-refundable once ordered.
Studio cancellations: If we cancel a class (e.g., due to teacher illness or unforeseen circumstances), we will offer a make-up class, credit, or alternative solution where practical.
5. Health, safety, and duty of care
Dance is a physical activity and carries inherent risk. By participating, students/parents acknowledge these risks. Parents/guardians must disclose any medical conditions, injuries, or special needs relevant to safe participation. If a student appears unwell or unsafe to participate, we may ask them to sit out for their wellbeing. In an emergency, we will attempt to contact the parent/guardian/emergency contact. If they cannot be reached, we may seek medical assistance as required.
6. Supervision and pick-up
Parents/guardians are responsible for student drop-off and pick-up and must ensure students are collected promptly after class. For younger students, a parent/guardian (or authorised adult) must remain available and contactable during class time. Studio Blue Dance is not responsible for students outside of their scheduled class times.
7. Behaviour and respect
We are committed to a safe, supportive environment. Respectful behaviour is expected from students and families at all times. Bullying, harassment, discrimination, intimidation, or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated (including in-person and via online communication platforms). If behaviour expectations are not met, we may implement management steps which can include meetings, behavioural plans, or in serious cases suspension/removal from classes or teams.
8. Communication (Band and studio updates)
Studio communications may be provided via email and/or Band. It is the responsibility of families to check messages and stay informed about timetable updates, rehearsals, events, and notices. Families must ensure contact details remain current.
9. Uniforms and presentation
Some classes require specific uniform items for safety and technique (e.g., footwear, hair requirements, leotards/unitards). Students may be asked to adjust presentation (hair tied back, correct shoes, jewellery removed) for safety and studio standards. Uniform requirements for performances/competitions are mandatory where applicable.
10. Performances, competitions, and additional commitments
Participation in performances and competitions may require additional rehearsals, costume purchases, entry fees, and stricter attendance expectations. Competition team and troupe commitments may be governed by additional policies/handbooks issued by the studio. If a student withdraws from an event after commitments are made (entries/costumes/bookings), associated costs may still be payable.
11. Photos and videos
We may take photos/videos during classes, rehearsals, and events. Media may be used for studio promotion where appropriate and in line with recorded consent preferences. Families can update media consent preferences at any time by contacting the studio.
12. Property and damage
Please respect studio facilities and equipment. Any damage caused intentionally or through negligent behaviour may be charged to the responsible family.
13. Changes to timetable, teachers, and studio operations
We may make changes to class times, teachers, studio rooms, or timetables where required (including due to enrolment numbers, staffing, venue availability, or operational needs). We will provide notice where reasonably possible.
14. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Studio Blue Dance Pty Ltd is not liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained in connection with participation, except where caused by our negligence or where liability cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Personal belongings are brought to the studio at the student’s risk.
15. Privacy
